A film of immense fragility and beauty

Like the ripples from a stone thrown into a pond, this is a fantastically delicate work of art. Drawing upon Eastern philosophy, heavy metal music and jpgs with filters on them, it cannot be missed. Almost as good as Super Mario Brothers Z!

Horrible, just horrible.

I'm a bit pissed that Soulseek didn't provide me with any Big Black or Ministry downloads, so here I am taking it out on an easy target.

The humor of this Flash seems to be based on that fact that the characters are swearing at a quick pace. Fuck that. That's juvenile. That type of humor may work on Newgrounds, but you're completely out of luck on a grander scale.

This isn't original. You're adopting Egoraptor's animation style and format, which is far from artistic to begin with. Did you have his permission to make such a blatant copy of his intellectual property, because this is south-eastern Asia sweatshop material here. The uncreativeness of this animation is further proved by the classic video game in-joke crutch. "Fuck you, cops, I have cheat codes!" Haha, get it? Because you can use cheat codes in the game and it seems funny and strange when cheat codes are used in a different medium! No.

As I've said before, this type of animation may be able to get a place on the front page, a Daily Award, and a +4.00 score on Newgrounds, but your parlor tricks will prove useless in the real world. Animation studios aren't impressed by references to recent video games and the voice actor's ability to spit fifty curses a minute. This fact that the users of Newgrounds allow terrible Flashes like this to prosper while animators with original ideas are pushed aside is disgusting.

Dude, I guess that's got nothing to do with the fact MTV hired Egoraptor because of his flashes, or the fact Rubberninja's Gamer Tonight Videos are being bought and shown on TV? Do some research and relise you can do whatever the fuck you like as long as its funny.

There's some talent here.

The sprites move with enough fluidity to make the action work, and they're generally handled well.

I stand by my belief that sprite flashes occupy a space with punk rock and Spike TV, being cheap entertainment that requires no thought. This movie certainly delivers that, but to be a truely great flash artist, you need diversity.

I suggest learning a bit of traditional animation, or making your own sprites. Additionly, try a movie with a different scenario than the clichéd "Two characters meet each other and start a fight". You've voiced your interest in becoming a popular artist in the past, and I think those skills will help you attain that.

It was a bit rough around the edges, but I'm all for Wonchop being defamed. The FBF was decent, kinda choppy, but the range of motion you were going for would have made sophisticated FBF a huge hassle. The voice acting was stellar; the Star Syndicate never fails on that front which is done poorly much too often. In the end, this is a perfectly acceptable movie stung by animator laziness, a poison I know all too well.

Negina responds:

I couldn't have said it better myself man

The Eyes of God: A Review

I sat down tody and finished The Eyes of God by John Marco, a high fantasy novel in the vane of Tolkien. The characters are rich with all the backstory and troubles you'd expect from real life people. Although the first section was entirely to sappy and boring, it really picked up later and featured all the brawny action you'd expect from Marco.

Though this book is set in somewhere fantastic, the knights and magic don't really choke the focal point of the story as they do in other novels of this genre. The real gold in this treasure is the character interaction and development. Marco plays out the motions of his characters very well making them all very intricate and interesting. Each person has their part to play and a huge amount of depth along with that, sometimes deceptively hidden during their introduction.

I do have a few squabbles over certain passages, and some parts are left unexplained and involves the reader having to guess as to what the outcome should become. The book is unpredictable, characters act irrationally at times, and at best erratic. Yet the story still seems to flow together nicely.

I think Akeela, Figgis, Gilwyn, Lukien and even Trager are expetionally good characters, with a sturdy background and interloping plots which gives them mystery and intrigue. Best of all their paths in life are wound around each other and best of all Marco is not afraid of change, loss and gain.

All in all, the writing in this one is great but I feel like if you took away the Fantasy trappings the novel wouldn't lose much. Even though the title and setting would lead you to believe that the magic and whatnot is the integral part of the story an adventure through the pages proves otherwise.

My Verdict:;; BUY IT!!!!
